North East and North Cumbria ICB general practice listening events – booking now live

Samantha Allen, Chief Executive and Dr Neil O’Brien, Chief Medical Officer for North East and North Cumbria ICB are inviting general practice colleagues to meet with them at a series of listening events being held across the patch.

As a PCC, we welcome this opportunity – our overriding objective is to provide a strong voice for the whole of primary care. We want to ensure that, at every level of decision-making, the perspective of those working in primary care is heard and understood. We urge those working in general practice to step forward and have their say, and for colleagues in optometry, pharmacy, and dentistry to know that we are advocating for similar opportunities across all pillars of primary care.

These face-to-face events offer the chance to focus on the experiences of those working on the ground in general practice, and this discussion around current challenges will support the development of future local strategy. This will provide useful insights into challenges faced, understanding what works well and what could be improved so that we can ensure a sustainable general practice model which is able to meet the commitments outlined as part of the upcoming 10-year NHS plan.
